Ford & Stanley - The Rail Specialists are looking to recruit a Graduate Data Engineer to join their client based in Bradford on Avon.

The Role

This is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates, who want to build their career in the railway industry or for experienced engineers to further their careers in a fast paced and expanding organisation. My client is looking for graduates to undertake data preparation and testing activities associated with the creation my clients cutting edge software products. Reporting to the Project Leader, the role will include creating and testing data, creating design and requirement documents and attending design workshops. 

Main Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Compile project data to meet project requirements
  • Compile project documentation in accordance with the BMS (business management system) as assigned by Project Engineer, Project Leader and/or Technical Authority
  • Identify and seek clarification on technical and project issues from the relevant person
  • Progress work in accordance with the project plan
  • Timely identification and resolution of data issues
  • Prepare test specifications for products in accordance with current test procedures
  • Document test results and make corrections as appropriate
  • Produce System Release Notes and Delivery Notes prior to delivery
  • Assist with the delivery and assembly of my client’s systems on site
  • Carry out post-delivery corrections
  • Feedback and seek guidance from the Project Engineer, Project Leader or Technical Authority
  • Enhance working relationships both internal and external to the project team
  • Prepare and update design documents and attend design workshops

Qualifications / Essential Skills

  • Degree educated (STEM subject)
  • Good knowledge of using PC tools especially Microsoft Office
  • A understanding of computer programming (This can be self-taught or learnt via degree)
  • Capable of working on own initiative in a structured manner
  • Learning attitude with attention to detail
  • Ability to think logically with good approach to problem solving
  • Good time management skills and able to work to appropriate deadlines
