Ford and Stanley Ltd - the Rail Recruitment specialists, are looking to appoint a Manufacturing Engineering Manager to lead and develop the Manufacturing Engineering and Maintenance and Facilities team in the effective production of complex products at the North East Manufacturing Facility

Project Engineering responsibility covering the introduction of new products, continuous improvements and all projects relating to the maintenance of the facility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and execute the industrial engineering strategy for the plant
  • Be the conduit for all design authority decisions ensuring timely implementation of agreed changes
  • Ownership of financial budgeting and forecasting of labour and consumables in the production methods area
  • Ensuring that the design information is usable by the plant systems and processes
  • Support Procurement and Supplier Quality Engineering in advising on technical decisions where required
  • Develop integrated working processes between the group factories and the site
  • Work closely with the local leadership teams to ensure processes are workable and sustainable
  • Coach and develop effective leadership and teams in order to deliver the desired business and cultural requirements at the Manufacturing Facility
  • Continue to nurture the critical relationships between counterparts on site and the other group factories and ensure relationships are operating effectively
  • Ownership of financial budgeting and forecasting of labour and consumables in the Production Methods area to include year on year cost reductions with no quality or safety penalty
  • Deputise for Head of Production in their absence as well as undertaking delegated authority on specific tasks as directed by the Head of Production
  • Continue to champion an ongoing positive working environment, ensuring it is maintained in line with corporate values
  • Maintaining the skills balance and succession planning in the Production Methods team (ensuring they have the right skills mix, ready for future projects)
  • Develop succession plans for critical roles in order to ensure there is a robust pipeline of talent
  • Grow, develop and retain high performing employees and graduates in line with the succession plan
