The Opportunity 

Ford & Stanley – The Rail Recruitment Experts are working with one of our UK based rail clients who are the leading provider of software products for rail operations and signalling.

The Quality Systems Manager will  assist the company in retaining their strong reputation with their customers by guiding the company through audits (both internal and external) and ensuring that the current and future products meet the quality requirements. The aim of this role is to provide management and co-ordination of our client’s Quality Assurance function; tasks shall include but not be limited to:

  • Creation and maintenance of our client’s Quality Management System to ensure delivery of quality products and services and compliance with the relevant quality standards
  • Maintenance and progression of our client’s Quality Accreditation

Role and Responsibilities

  • Adherence to our client’s Business Management System and to maintain and enhance customer satisfaction through processes and leadership
  • Identifying and recommending to senior management areas for improvement in the quality management system and the wider company at large
  • Creating, implementation and management of our client’s Quality Plan
  • Managing the Quality Team
  • Implementing and managing the Audit Programme and Internal Auditors
  • Managing the Quality Review Team and chairing Quality Review Meetings
  • Maintaining, monitoring and developing procedures and systems and ensure their compliance to BS EN ISO9001, TickIT+, BS EN 50128 and other relevant standards
  • Measuring the application of quality processes and identification of areas for improvement
  • Reporting of relevant quality issues
  • Ensuring Customer Satisfaction through Surveys to the Audit Programme
  • Implementing agreed improvement plans

The Candidate 

  • Ability to communicate at all levels of the business, customers and suppliers
  • Internal Auditor qualification
  • Lead Auditor qualification
  • Good knowledge of BS EN 50128
  • Quality Management Qualification or relevant experience
  • Ideally you will have worked in a regulated industry such as rail, aerospace, defence or a software house.
  • Management of a small team (4/5)
