Supporting military personnel in their transition to civilian life
As the demand for skills within rail continues to grow, Ford & Stanley understand the importance of exploring transferrable industries to source the right talent.
Ford & Stanley were pleased to support the Rail Forum East Midlands (RFEM) and Careers Transition Partnership (CTP) at their recent Rail Industry Careers Fair held at Derby’s iPro Stadium on Thursday 27th October 2016. This event was targeted at military personnel from a wide variety of backgrounds, who are looking to leave the Armed Forces over the next 12 months and make the transition to civilian life.
The event catered for all service leavers from different specialisms, presenting the opportunity for Senior Officers looking for senior management positions to discuss current vacancies, talks from ex-military personnel on how they have forged successful careers within the rail industry and the opportunity for delegates to learn first-hand, from prospective employers, about the types of skills employers are actively looking for.
In excess of 20 RFEM members exhibited at this event, with support from Midlands based TOCs, ROSCOs, consultancies, rail training businesses, recruitment consultancies and local colleges/universities.
