Ford & Stanley – The Rail Recruitment Experts have partnered with an industry leading manufacturer who are looking to bring in a Continuous Improvement Engineer to deliver on key continuous improvement projects across the production facility based in Scunthorpe  

The Opportunity

The engineer will be looking at the at the existing documentation that include work instructions, quality procedures and training and producing document for all future works. You will be working with a team of 20 insuring that continuous improvement process is carried out and training needs are identified to insure that the production line works as efficiently as possible

Role and Responsibilities

  • To design process layouts for all solution products and responsible for introducing the flexibility to integrate several other products, necessary to the success of various projects
  • Change process master documents as the process changes
  • Monitor changes supplied by engineering, as per the Quality Plan
  • Highlight the required tools, jigs and indirect material to the relevant departments
  • Coordinate a FMEA (Failure, Mode, Effect Analysis) study on all new products prior to pre-configuration
  • Issue process documents to technician and field engineers
  • Establish the following requirements: - Tools, jogs and indirect materials
  • Carryout training on build methods
  • Highlight and act upon any process issues
  • Highlight to the relevant departments, ways of improving their design to support the manufacturing process- required at design stage
  • Achieve a lean manufacturing system by continuous improvements of all process related issues. Continuously looking at eliminating/ reducing all nonvalue added processes
  • Identifying future manufacturing concepts and methods for achieving repeatable projects of this type

The Candidate

The successful candidate for this position will have at least 3 years’ experience in a similar role with a passion on implementing continuous improvement. Communication skills are a must as you will be dealing with a number of different stakeholders.
