£55,000 per annum

The Opportunity

This is an opportunity for an experience project manager to join a company whose prize themselves on innovation, I’m looking for someone with at least 5 years’ experience working within a software delivery envelopment. Rail would be preferred but my client is open to people from transferable industry’s.

Location – Derby


  • Adherence to the company Business Management System
  • Represent the company on customer project review meetings
  • Work with customers to ensure timely and cost effective execution of projects, to meet commercial objectives and to develop their relationship with the company
  • Ensure that resource requirements are identified and reported to the Programme Manager / Resource Manager in a timely manner
  • Compile timely project financial and progress reports as required
  • Timely resolution of audit findings
  • Frequent liaison with the Sales and Marketing Team to ensure the smooth handover of projects
  • Provide leadership for project teams throughout the project life cycle, from conception through delivery to support
  • Provide input and / or approval to support costing and pricing for sales proposals
  • Assess and authorise product release ensuring compliance with requirements and readiness for delivery
  • Ensure compliance of projects to the relevant quality, health & safety and environmental standards and the company Business Management System (BMS)
  • Supporting continuous improvement to project management and production processes
  • Identification and effective mitigation of project risk

Qualifications & Experience   

Essential Key Skills

  • Excellent project management skills particularly in developing / maintaining effective working relationships, risk management, plans and budgets
  • Experience of working within highly regulated industries, ideally rail, although candidates with experience in similar industries such as oil and gas or aerospace will be considered
  • Understanding of signalling design principles
  • Understanding of railway traffic operation, particularly signalling control centres
  • Understanding of signalling control system design, and especially data structures associated with SSI, IECC, MCS and ARS
