Ford & Stanley – The Digital Specialist are looking to recruit a Network Project Engineer for their client based in Wakefield.  Our Client is a prestigious national network hosting and cloud service provider, and due to continued success and growth are looking to add an additional Network Project Engineer to their team.

The Role

Working as part of a Network Team you will be a key player delivering orders and working on customer projects delivering end-to-end solutions comprising of WAN, LAN, WLAN & Security.

  • Core Skills – Enterprise Switching & Routing, WLAN, Firewalls/security
  • Core Vendors – Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet, Meraki
  • Other skills – Service provider routing, Data Centre switching
  • Certifications/ability – CCNP, JNCIP level (although certification is not required)

Candidates for this role are expected to:

  • Take a high-level design, scope of works and bill of materials and develop a low level design and implementation plan
  • Be competent in the low-level design of WANs & LANs (IP addressing, VLANs, resilience at Layer-2 and Layer-3, etc.)
  • Be competent in the configuration of Cisco router & switches and/or Juniper routers & switches
  • Built and implement test plans
  • Perform network migrations (typically out of hours)
  • Build change controls defining CLI commands
  • Peer review other engineers change controls
  • Design WLAN solutions
  • Configure security appliances and UTM features on either Cisco ASA and/or Juniper SRX & Fortigate
  • Mentor network support and provisioning engineers

The Candidate

Technical Skills

Experience of the following would also be advantageous:

  • Service provider networks – MPLS & IP transit
  • SDN – Cisco Nexus products, Cisco ACI
  • DSL Networks – LNS/BRAS
  • Cloud Networks – Vmware, storage, Virtualisation
