Role and Responsibilities

To lead:

  • Management of Quality Engineer(s), provide leadership, management & coaching
  • Initial contact for customer/supplier/internal concerns - 8D resolution (production level parts)
  • Authority to stop production or shipment of defect product
  • Definition/setting of product quality requirements
  • Review customer scorecards
  • Review customer portals
  • Facilitate continuous improvement
  • Facilitate customer awareness
  • Development of management system, setting objectives & training
  • Co-ordinate management system audit schedule/perform 1st, 2nd party audits
  • 3rd party management system audit co-ordinate/liaisonReview and implement Customer Specific Requirements
  • Maintain a record of all Customer Specific Requirements
  • Lab testing - Management of suppliers
  • Measurement of prototype parts
  • Supplier development
  • Gauge method/requirements
  • Gauge supplier selection
  • Gauge Repeatability & Reproducibility studies
  • Product/Process Approval (PPAP) requirements/construction/submission
  • Ongoing Statistical Process Control (SPC) reporting
  • Development of environment system & setting environment objectives
  • 3rd party environment audit co-ordinate/liaison

  • Process Flow generation
  • PFMEA generation
  • Control plan generation
  • Process Instructions generation
  • File data to electronic project folders
  • Alternate to Engineering to manage of tooling and equipment suppliers

The Candidate


  • Minimum 5 years’ experience of quality management
  • Has implemented new procedures/change management
  • Automotive experience as a 1st or 2nd tier supplier
  • Has applied APQP
  • Experience in product/process approval (PPAP)
  • Trained/experience of core tools
  • Has applied quality management techniques SPC, 8D, 5Y
  • Knowledge of production methods & processes
  • Ability to communicate at all levels
  • Understanding & experienced in applying quality management system standards
  • Computer literate Word, Excel & Project
  • Can read engineering drawings
  • Knowledge of GD&T
  • Knowledge of product performance testing
  • Experience of gauging & metrology
  • Ability to influence without authority


  • Trained quality/management system auditor ISO9001/IATF 16949
