The sixth annual YRP Annual Black Tie Dinner & Awards 2015 took place on Thursday April 16th at London’s Grand Connaught Rooms. Daniel Taylor, David Perrin and Sam Ford hosted a table for four major clients on the evening.

The annual event brings together young railway professionals, from all areas of the industry across the UK to celebrate the success of those pursuing their careers and to highlight those who have made an exceptional mark on the industry.

As always, this year’s event was a sell-out, with almost 500 guests in attendance, who listened to a number of speeches, including that of Simon Kirby of HS2 who spoke passionately about the exciting opportunities for young people in the rail industry. Following the success of previous years, the Atlantic Soul Orchestra – the country’s ‘hardest hitting and most authentic soul band’ – once again entertained guests after the formalities of the evening.

Winner of this year’s Young Rail Professional of the Year, Richard Gannon was announced on the evening and presented by Carl Rayner, Head of Leadership and Management Development, Arriva – UK. Ford & Stanley would like to congratulate Richard and all of those shortlisted for the award – this year’s shortlist was an incredible line up.

Sam Ford, Key Account Director, Sam Ford commented on the evening: “It was an brilliant opportunity for us to not only host a table of our clients, but to meet many of the young future leaders of the industry. Simon Kirby, had an interesting key note speech and there was an excellent handover of the YRP Chairman baton to Stephen Head of Interfleet.”

Daniel Taylor, Head of Rail added, “The Grand Connaught Rooms were as impressive as ever; the evening was executed to perfection and the food was great. It was wonderful to see so many rail professionals from the East Midlands at the event, drawing crowds in from more than just the London area.”

Matt Phillips of Interfleet that joined us on the evening said, “Having been involved with the YRP for the last few years – including this year where one of my team Stephen Head is the Chairperson – I have been delighted to see how it has grown and matured so quickly. To see such a large and diverse group of capable, highly motivated and ambitious young people really makes me confident that the future of our industry is in great hands.”
