Children in Need 2017: Raising cash for Pudsey's paws
From Superman to Slash, the Ford & Stanley team put on their best costumes to raise money for Children in Need.
Every November, people of all ages get together to do what they can to raise money for BBC Children in Need. The money raised is used to help improve the lives of disadvantaged children and young people all over the UK. Thanks to the generous donations and fundraising efforts by individuals, schools and businesses alike, 2017 saw the highest total to date - a phenomenal £50 million.
On Friday 17th, the annual television show aired that encouraged viewers to give what they can. The night consisted of a range of entertaining viewing, from special episodes of EastEnders, to reality TV stars testing their general knowledge (or lack of!) on a gruelling celebrity episode of The Weakest Link.
At Ford & Stanley, the opportunity to get together for a good cause is something the team would never shy away from. After doing our best to ignore some strange looks on the commute to work, the team had a fantastic time comparing outfits and doing stellar impressions of sporting heroes, rock stars, Disney characters and much more!
As well as amusing sights, the office was filled with enticing smells due to the various cakes, sausage rolls and other scrumptious snacks that were sold in order to raise money for the great cause. ‘There was a great buzz throughout the office - everybody made such an effort on the day, which is why we were able to raise the money we did.’ said Emma Watkins, who came to work dressed as an Egyptian Goddess.
All in all the day was a huge success. Thanks to the determination and generosity of everyone involved, a fantastic £150.00 was raised that will go towards changing the lives of those who need our help.
