Ford & Stanley acquire major automotive recruitment firm

6 May 2014

Specialist recruitment firm Ford & Stanley has acquired UK Sigma Consulting Ltd, a leading automotive and engineering recruitment business.

The acquisition sees Alison Ward, UK Sigma’s founder, join the Board of Directors at Ford & Stanley. She will also work in the business’s manufacturing and automotive department.

Phillip Machell, Ford & Stanley’s Interim Managing Director, said the deal brought together two prominent specialist recruitment companies and continued to underline Ford & Stanley’s expansion plans.

He said: “Alison brings 20 years of recruitment expertise in the automotive sector and we are delighted to have her on board. It places Ford & Stanley firmly at the leading edge of automotive and manufacturing recruitment, and complements the swift growth of our rail division this year.”

Mr Machell said the purchase did not signal the end of Ford & Stanley’s acquisition plans in the short and medium term. The company opened new headquarters in Derby in January.

He said: “We have grown organically but when an opportunity comes along we are always keen to pursue it, whether that’s for the right business or the right employee. That is why we are so pleased to have secured someone with Alison’s background, contacts and expertise.”

Miss Ward, who founded UK Sigma Consulting Ltd in 2009 and has specialized in engineering and manufacturing recruitment for over 20 years, said: “Ford & Stanley is a fast growing, ambitious company and this is an excellent and exciting opportunity for us all.

“As well as bringing my recruitment expertise to the company, I will also be able to offer high level input to help Ford & Stanley continue to thrive and expand.”
