Daniel Taylor becomes Vice Chairman of YRP East Midlands
Head of Rail and Associate Director, Daniel Taylor has been announced as the 2014 Vice Chairman - East Midlands Region of the YRP (Young Rail Professionals) alongside Sarah Layzell of East Midlands Trains
Established in 2009, the Young Rail Professionals (YRP) has over 1,500 members and was created for people starting out in their rail careers. They provide networking and professional development opportunities to enhance and inspire its members. For those in education, the YRP runs a Rail Ambassadors programme, providing opportunities to its members to visit schools, colleges and universities to attract the next generation into this dynamic industry.
On July 2nd, Ford & Stanley played hosts to the first East Midlands committee meeting. Over the next 12 months, the YRP EM will work to encourage more members within the East Midlands region. Committee members defined their roles during the first meeting and also discussed networking development, various external relations and events.
Daniel commented: “I am absolutely delighted to be elected as the Vice Chair for the YRP East Midlands Region, sharing the seat with Sarah Layzell. Sarah and I will be supporting our Chairman, Sabrina Ihaddaden of Bombardier.
To launch an East Midlands YRP Committee has been a long term ambition by all involved and is another fantastic piece of news for local industry, as we strive to encourage graduates and apprentices to make UK Rail the industry of choice.”
He added: “With a big launch event planned for late October 2014, I would encourage all young rail professionals to register (click here) for free. Once again, I would like to congratulate all elected committee members - with a special mention to Adam Stead and his London team who made all this possible.”
